Hey there!

My name is Alyssa Petit and I love to create things on purpose. I am currently based out of Fairbanks, Alaska.

When I’m not creating, I’m getting inspired. I love being outside, taking walks, camping and fishing, a good cuppa, and neighborhood squirrel watching. I’m grateful every day for the life I get to lead, and I want others to feel just as held by this world as I do.

Here are some things that I love and why.

  • There’s the in between leaving my house and getting to work that is a great time to slow down and move at a human pace, on a human scale. I get to notice the little things I’d miss in a car. It’s my reset before a day of work.

  • I come from a Midwestern family, and if there’s one thing we know, it’s how to bond over food and drink. There’s something extra special about that first sip of the day—the warmth, the comfort—that I love sharing with someone else.

  • I love people. I'm fascinated by the idea that each person in this world leads their own life and they are doing the best they can with what they know. When I host, I invite everyone. There is no tailored list of who would enjoy who. Everyone is invited. And what better talking point is there than a really good theme?!

  • I’m a firm believer in the power of third spaces—those places that aren’t home or work. That is where life happens.

  • My husband taught me how to fish. At first, it was just a fun way to be outside and spend quality time together. But over time, I discovered my own appreciation for it. After seeing the unreal colors of a dolly varden and learning the life cycles of salmon, I’m both humbled and inspired by nature. Fishing has become a way for me to connect more deeply with the world around me and reminds me that the world itself doesn't need my help to be even more beautiful.

Here’s what I’ve been reading.

Here are some camera roll photos that capture my essence with absolutely no context.
